Exploring the Arts Industry; Due Diligence
All R9 Accelerator teams have just finished their official Due Diligence period with government agencies, with roughly half of the teams moving to new premises and continuing work on their opportunities. We will miss our home at Plimmer Towers where we were based since March!
We’ve received an amazing support from all the government agencies we’ve worked with and they are keen to help us with their advice for Bosspac to move forward. They are excited about the project that will make lives easier for self-employed New Zealanders. We are especially happy for them to support the project, because some of the agencies go through a major transformation and we appreciate any resources that they can devote to us during this time. Thank you MBIE, ACC and IR!
We also got the chance to have a review session of the programme with an external agency. It is great to see that R9 Accelerator will be even more awesome and better next year, for everyone!
We explored more about the creative and performing arts industry (according to the statistics, more than 60% of people employed in the industry are self-employed). We met with The Creative Capital Arts Trust and The Fringe and learnt how artists and people from the creative industries deal with government obligations. (Artists are so lovely and helpful people!) They face their own industry-specific challenges (e.g., it might be common for them to work for more than one employer and have multiple income streams that help them cover living expenses).
We had a great chat with Data Futures Partnership about Bosspac and how Data Futures Partnership help to lead the development of a high-trust data use system creating value for all New Zealanders.
Lastly, asks… If you know anyone who can help us with the following:
- Send anyone you know who may be interested in our beta to sign-up: bosspac.co.nz
- Send people you think may be keen to hear more about Bosspac to get in touch with us.
What’s next? Don’t tell anyone, but we’ve just started building the Bosspac… We are so excited about launching the first alpha version of Bosspac in the next couple of months!
