Demo day! We prepared for this day for 14 weeks and we are 100% sure that we are ready. The morning started with a rehearsal and just getting used to microphones and everything. Then we had a quick lunch break and then the show can start.
Our microphones are set up, the clock is 3pm sharp and the show can start. Unfortunately, we don’t see the full show as we are in the green room, but have live sound and presentation feed in the green room. The upside is that we can meet ministers who are going to give speeches and introduce ourselves. We managed to say hi to Hon Steven Joyce and Hon Simon Bridges.
In the backstage, the time flies incredibly quickly. Around 4:30pm we started to move to direction of the stage. Last breath before the presentation and Bosspac’s show can start. 14 weeks in 6min 40 sec – how hard can it be? John got on the stage, Lelde was driving the presentation and everything went super smooth. We are confident that it was the best presentation we have delivered in this program. We also received a great feedback from the panel after our pitch. “Panel members included representation from the capital investment arena, Steve Meller from Silicon Valley in the U.S; government leadership, Naomi Ferguson, Chief Executive of Inland Revenue; the social sector, Louise Aitken, General Manager of the Akina Foundation; and from the tech sector, Graeme Muller, Chief Executive of NZ Tech.” – R9 Accelerator.

The event was led by Nick Churchouse, each team was introduced by a person who has worked with the team, is excited about the team and the opportunity the team is working on. Bosspac received an introduction from Xero. We also received a great interest on the Day and had people contacting us after it, who showed interested in what we are doing and want to hear more.
In total, there were approximately 400 people in the audience. We are sure that we did the best, to get the interest in our solution.
After the official part, there was a networking event. We managed to meet a lot of awesome people.
We are lucky to have been granted the opportunity, to continue working on the solution in the negotiation phase with government agencies – MBIE, ACC and IRD.
From now on, we will switch to less regular updates on this blog, once a month.
