Week 9 – Can you finish it so that I can use it, please?
It’s getting busier and busier here at R9 Accelerator and Bosspac is working hard to make it easier for self-employed people to deal with government obligations.
This week we learnt tips and tricks to improve our pitching skills, we had a session to be better at negotiation and also to be more efficient and confident at presenting our solution and value proposition.
On Wednesday we had a room full of people from various government agencies to whom teams presented the progress and potential solutions. We also had a great chat with a behaviour-driven design guru who helped us with his experience and skills, and agreed to assist us with our prototype.
Bosspac has also continued to demonstrate our prototype and clickable screens to government agencies, self-employed people and accountants. They love it and can’t wait for the solution to be available! It is so rewarding to see how people interact with the solution, what their thoughts are and hear the feedback for the improvements to be made. We are in the build-measure-learn loop and learning all the time which is a super-exciting journey. Believe us – we can’t wait for the solution to be available as well, but there are months of work ahead of us before it happens.
This week finished with R9 Hackathon where all the teams had the chance to go through 6-hour prototyping session. Everyone had a lot of fun and we even went out to the streets to test our paper screens. People liked the screens, we also received some feedback for improvements and we enjoyed seeing smiles on people’s faces. And at the Hackathon Awards ceremony, we even received a reward for our efforts – super comfy slippers (for overnight stays at the Plimmer Towers?).
What we learnt this week:
- When pitching, tell a story about your customers and your audience will be more engaged.
- Having a clickable prototype and letting people play with it – it’s a completely different experience and can be a game-changer.
- When pitching, think about 3 main things that your audience will take with them home and that you want them to remember.
We are excited to enter the last third of R9 Accelerator – just one month left until the Demo Day! Thanks to everyone who is supporting us and helping us on any step! We are so lucky to receive all the support that we have received so far. If you are keen to see our prototype and here more about the work we are doing, please get in touch with us.
