Week 5 – New financial year!
This week’s highlight was pitch-practice when we had a Meet and Experience event and government agencies visited us at our Plimmer Towers premises. Some of the teams (including us) got asked some uncomfortable questions and it was a good practice to prepare us better for the final presentation on 8th June (the date is confirmed!).
This week we met with accountants (yay, to the new financial year!) and accounting software providers to hear their stories, learn more about their experience and how they help self-employed people succeed.
We learnt tips and tricks for cold-calling, how to make them shorter and more effective – we learnt what we could have improved when we did lots of cold-calling.
Team Bosspac also went through values of our potential solution and it was a fun process. It was easy for our team to agree on the following values: fun, clarity, freedom, trust, safety, comfort.
We also had more meetings with self-employed people to learn more about their pain and confirm some of the findings from previous weeks. We also continued to build relationships with relevant government agencies and they have been very supportive of providing answers to our questions. It also helps us build a bigger picture to see where potential improvements can be made.
What we learnt this week:
- 2:46 – the quickest time it took for our team to arrange a meeting in a cold-call (before cold-calling training).
- Demo day is 62 days away!
- Tell people what you are doing and exchange positive energy by getting excited with each other’s work!
We are looking forward to our next week and visiting beauty salons to hear more stories from self-employed people working in them.
