Week 1 – Back to the uni!Team Bosspac has started its journey through the R9 accelerator. From time to time we will put some notes about our team’s success in a form of a blog post.
19 different activities and sessions in the first 5 days. It is a powerful start. We listened about govtech, lean methodologies, mental wellness and participated in team building activities. It was a very good recap of all the different experiences that we will be having in the accelerator. We’ll see.
My favourite session was design thinking. We were simulating problem solving that we will need to do during the accelerator. One of the tasks was to improve the experience of sitting in traffic jams. Obviously, it was good fun and also showed some basic principles of interviewing, solution building, prototyping and re-iterating over the best solution by applying feedback from customers. Lelde’s favourite session was wellness because it is very important to take care of ourselves when we get too excited about work and helping others. Sleep, rest, regular meals and doing physical activities are the things that have to be priorities.
We were expecting the first week to be a bit harder. I am sure I will beg for mercy in few weeks from the workload, but currently, it has been under our expected amount. It is like in the university – the first lecture is always about the course and you don’t really do much of the actual content. But once the exam time comes, it quickly becomes a completely different story.
Three takeaways from this week:
- MBIE and R9 accelerator team are awesome!
- We will have to talk with customers a lot and get out of the comfort zone.
- This R9 accelerator journey can be a new beginning for something much longer and very exciting.
We can’t wait to get started!
